No Dairy, No Eggs, No Problem when dining at Disney's Orlando Theme Parks and Resorts

Where we started

We started eating at Disney Restaurants in 2022 because of Disney's reputation for great allergy procedures. We heard from other food allergy families "you'll do great!" but this advice was often from families with milder food allergies or allergies to a single food, like nuts, who already dine out frequently at non-Disney restaurants. With a dairy allergy, let alone multiple allergies, finding kid-friendly menu options took a bit more research.

How it's going

Exploring new Disney restaurants has become our favorite family tradition. At this point, we have dined at countless Orlando Disney restaurants and, knock on wood, we've dined safely every time. Every time we order, we always talk to an allergy coordinator (quick serve) or the chef (table service) to make sure we order correctly for our multiple food allergies. We are loving the freedom to arrive at a theme park without bringing a bunch of food with us.

It has taken our family a lot of research, preparation, and trial and error to find the best options for dining with dairy and egg food allergies. In addition to safety, our main goal is to find restaurants that can offer our son the best value and experience, with the following priorities:

  1. Tasty Food

  2. Favorite Foods

  3. Variety & Options

  4. Something Special

  5. The Ability to Eat what Everyone Else is Eating

Dining with allergies to dairy, egg, and more, using single-allergen menus

Occasionally, we have checked all the separate allergy menus for our allergies (milk, eggs, tree nuts, and shellfish), prepared to order some tasty food, only to find out there were two versions of the food and both versions had one of our child's allergens. This is the reason you can not mobile order with multiple top 9 food allergies. While menus can change, we have found some consistent, tasty options for dining with dairy and egg allergies (in addition to tree nuts and shellfish).

We hope you'll use our experiences to help cut down your planning time...

Fast track your menu research - We will share our experiences dining with milk and egg allergies at different restaurants at Disney so you can browse a quick list of dairy and egg free menu options.

Read Allergy Restaurant Reviews - We'd like to help other allergy families find the dining experience at the parks that gives the most value, tastiest options, and/or the special experiences their family is looking for.

Be Prepared - Learning what to do when you arrive at the dining experience to make it a great time (tools, tips, and resources).

Gear Up - These are the items we like to bring to Disney that helps us have a great hassle free experience (e.g., insulated epi pen bag).

Allergy Resources - Links to helpful resources for families with food allergies.

We are excited to let you know what we find!

Best Wishes,

No Dairy, No Eggs, No Problem

A Note About Walt Disney World Dining and Food Allergies

Disney restaurants do not contact the food manufacturers of their ingredients to inquire about shared lines or shared facilities (this information is determined optional labeling by the FDA). It is your responsibility to ask for product brand names, ingredient lists (or to see the allergy binder), or to inquire about cross contact risks (e.g., desserts), should that be something that you need to know. For more information about dietary policies at Disney World restaurants, or for guests with four or more food allergies (or non-top 9 allergies), please contact Disney's Special Diets.

Disclaimer

We are just one allergy family and we are definitely not medical doctors. This website is not intended to offer medical advice. We follow the advice of our family's allergist based on the unique allergy profile of our son. All allergy families are different. Disney has great food allergy training and kitchen procedures, but there are no guarantees when dining out. Please consult your own doctor regarding safe strategies for dining out and always be prepared with an allergy action plan and emergency medication (epi-pen), should it be needed.
